thanks for this great report. if Steinmeier is really the US guy in the CDU, why this comment from him recently–German minister warns Nato against ‘warmongering’

    • Having Filip is such a privilege- he is amazing: direct experience living in several countries, 4 languages, amazing research-analysis and communication skills … The list goes on. We are growing and expanding our coverage and reach, CuChulainn. And all this been possible because of ‘you’ supporters backing us and saying ‘scr.. corporate ads, he.. with foundation sugar-daddies’ So the real ‘thank’ goes to Newsbud-BFP supporters.

Thank you all at Newsbud & Boiling Frogs.

    • Steinmeier is a member of the Social Democrats (SPD), not Merkel’s CDU. During his career, he has often put U.S. interests over German interests. But as you noted, he changed his tune recently. It’s not clear why. One possibility is that Merkel and Steinmeier are trying to play “good cop, bad cop” with the Russians. Or Steinmeier and the SPD are just positioning themselves for the elections next year. Many Germans don’t support Merkel’s new Cold War nonsense and favor closer cooperation with Russia. Due to his recent comments, Steinmeier has been labeled a “Putin apologist” by some politicians and media but his popularity among the general population increased. At the moment he’s acting more reasonably than the rest of the government, but I don’t trust him.

Having relatives in Russia i can confirm that there is no war/fear mongering there unlike here in the US, which kinda tells you who’s telling more truth about what’s going on

  4. Thanks Filip, this is a fantastic series so far and a great resource for insight beyond the BS Western anti-Russia propaganda we’re constantly bombarded with. It’s also a hell of a lot more useful than the other side of the equation in areas of the alt-media where we have people buying into the Putin fanboy mentality simply based on the fact that Russia is pushing back and at times calling out the US/NATO propaganda for the foolishness and hypocrisy that it is. While I have to admit at times I find this frankness on the part of figures like Putin and Lavrov satisfying, I’m far from buying into the simplistic dichotomy where I’m going to start cheering on Russia since they stand in opposition to Western policies such as the wholesale destruction of Libya and Syria through funding of “moderate rebels” and the proxy war mongering in Ukraine (amongst other things) which I so strongly oppose. Russia has its own imperial designs, oligarch and elite agendas which are far from savory. Still, at least on main stage geopolitically speaking, I feel that Russia has used smart diplomacy to prevent direct confrontation to the extent that it’s possible under the circumstances . Thanks to these two shows I have a more nuanced view of the internal dynamics which I can apply to what I hear in the news propaganda and in turn, can apply in my conversations with other people and hopefully do my part to help steer them clear of the various narratives that sell the public on perpetual war and blank checks for the military, industrial, surveillance, police state complex. None of which the vast majority of any population would support without the mythology which justifies their existence.

I stated elsewhere that so much of what’s necessary to even begin to make any sort of positive change comes down to providing people with accurate information. Obviously the Russian media, like the US (or anywhere else for that matter) has its own interests and agendas, but this is where the insights up Professor Kovacevic come in so handy. This is a really unique and valuable asset to have at Newsbud.

Thanks again and keep up the great work! =]

Well said BennyB, I completely agree with your assessment and comment. We are so lucky to have people like Sibel and sites like Newsbud, Boiling Frogs and The Corbet Report… they are so important to keep the truth circulating amongst the population in direct opposition to the lies & propaganda of the MSM.
