Big Pharma & An Army of Lobbyists Just Sidestepped the FDA

The 21st century cures act sounds very nice, the same way that the patriot act, or the affordable health care act sounded. The 21st century cures act is supposed to accelerate the pace of cures in America, by streamlining the drug and device development process. Find out how big pharma just landed a big victory that may give a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘FDA Approved’.

    Hello Spiro,

    I always enjoy your reports.

My take on the future we are driving towards….

Here is what i think the population breakdown in percentage and their purpose will look like in the soon future.

0.01% of population will RULE the planet.
0.99% of population will OWN the planet.
9.00% of the population will ADMINISTER the planet.
90% of the population will be the CATTLE of the planet. They will provide the labor, food, creativity, etc etc in return for being allowed to live as slaves (wage salves). The Pharmaceutical and Food industries are going to be what keeps us alive (barely).

      Hi VoiceOfArabi,
That is a very interesting estimation of where we are heading. Not to sound the Mr. doom and gloom, but some would argue that we are already there, or not far off.
      Thanks for the comment
      Spiro

  2. Another great video as usual, Spiro. I like the way you pivoted back and forth between Elizabeth Warren’s commentary, then filled in the specifics with the technical details. You’ve done this elsewhere, but I thought it was particularly effective and illustrative here.

What can we say? This is yet another “while you were sleeping” piece of legislation. Always under the guise of some sort of obscure seemingly unrelated bill with a cuddly branding name for the most unsavory aspect. Oh, the “Modernized Consumer Goods and Home Equity Bill”? That’s just a law that allows the police to shoot noisy pets, sell the fur, then donate the proceeds as compensation to your neighbors, otherwise known as “Soft, Safe, and Quiet Communities Act”.

So the drug companies weren’t satisfied with the lax FDA regulations which frequently lead to massive recalls on dangerous drugs that kill thousands of people? No, why not entice people into becoming guinea pigs for testing by promising them faster access to new drugs? What could possibly go wrong?

At any rate, not sure what we can do about it at the moment, but certainly catching stories like this and others like it which simply fall through the cracks just about everywhere else is an important step in the right direction, so thanks.
