The EyeOpener Report- Beyond Common Core: Education Over Indoctrination

The Paradigm of Education over Indoctrination

There is no one set method for education. Every child is different; each will learn in their own way, respond to challenges and tasks in different manners; benefit from different approaches and different levels of outside input and self-direction. But that is the real task of education; not teaching children to memorize names, dates and figures out of a textbook and regurgitate them on the test paper, but to understand who they are as individuals, what they can contribute to the world, and how to connect with those around them. There are classrooms around the world where these experiences are a core part of the education environment and the results these classrooms produce are as powerful as they are undeniable.

Find out more about the paradigm of education over indoctrination and the real solution to the problem of Common Core in this week's EyeOpener report with James Corbett.

Empire, Power, and People with Andrew Gavin Marshall- Episode 32

Social Engineering & Global Governance

EPPThe process of global governance is a result of an embedded institutional system of social engineering. This podcast looks at some of the recent history of social engineering, focusing on the role of educational institutions, philanthropy, and the social sciences.

When power systems are in crisis - primarily of an economic and social nature - facing the potential of rebellion or revolution, the institutions of social engineering are employed to implement reforms and policy programs aimed at securing consent to the system, and thus, establishing social control. Changes in the educational system are implemented so that intellectuals and policy-makers can subsequently effect similar changes on a wider, social basis. Thus, educational reform prefaces social reform. As we see educational institutions now organizing around the concept of 'global governance,' a new era of students will be educated so as to help the process of global governance manifest on a wider social, political and economic scale. If we seek to challenge this system, we will have to re-imagine and re-engineer our own educational systems to effect the social changes we also desire.

The Lost Generation?

EPPMove out of home, go to school, get a loan, graduate, get a job, pay your taxes, get a mortgage, buy a house, get married, have kids, grow old, and die. My generation, and those that follow, are incapable of meeting the expectations that are held up for us to meet. The world we are living in is far different from those generations which preceded us. Using Canada as an example, this episode examines the coming economic crisis, developing social youth movements, and the failure of expectations for the youth in Canada, North America, and the world at large. The game is rigged, and we are set up to fail. The time has come for the youth to understand the world we are inheriting, and to make a choice: do we passively accept a suffering existence, or do we actively create something new? Older generations must also realize that they can no longer coddle and pressure their children to do as they did, but must also accept the realities of the world, and work with the youth in creating something new. So, will we be a lost generation, or a creative generation?

The Boiling Frogs Presents Andrew Gavin Marshall

BFP Podcast Logo

This is part I of our interview series on the New World Order.

Andrew Gavin Marshall joins us to discuss the central role of the Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Ford Foundations in the construction of knowledge and the transformation of America from an ‘isolationist’ society to a ‘globalist’ society, and the concerted and strategic effort by these institutions in seeking to engineer and manage the social sciences to fit within the framework of an emerging American Empire. He warns about the slight and subtle process through which a potentially powerful movement such as Occupy Wall Street may be co-opted and controlled, and shares with us his 12-Point proposal for the Occupy Movement to ‘be the change.’ Mr. Marshall provides us with his view and definition of the New World Order, the role of institutions, including the NGOs, the importance of true independence in counter-movement and protests and more!

MarshallAndrew Gavin Marshall is an independent researcher and writer, covering a broad range of issues – economic, political, social, cultural, and historical – in an effort to bring a critical perspective to world events. He has authored dozens of articles, essays, and reports online and for various magazines and other publications, and is regularly interviewed by radio and television programs on a number of different issues. He recently co-edited a book with Professor Michel Chossudovsky entitled, “The Global Economic Crisis: The Great Depression of the XXI Century,” a collection of essays by a number of authors and researchers presenting a more critical and nuanced examination of the economic crisis that began in 2008.
